TAT, CCTV to launch ‘Travel around Asia in Thailand’ tourism documentary

Travel around Asia in Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has cooperated with the China Central Television (CCTV) to launch ‘Travel around Asia in Thailand’ to promote tourism in Thailand via this documentary.

After discussions about a Thailand-China collaboration, Chinese Counsellor Lu Jian and TAT Chairperson Weerasak Kowsurat stated that the CCTV, which was airing programs to more than 1,200 Chinese people, would produce a tourism documentary to publicize asian tourist attractions and people’s ways of life.

Mr. Weerasak stated further that this was the first time in promoting national tourism via a documentary. He added that the program would be released via CCTV in November 2009, elaborating that the documentary would consist of seven 30 minute episodes.

The TAT Chairperson said that the documentary would be shot in Bangkok, Chonburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon to present Thai culture to Chinese tourists. He then expressed his belief that Thailand would be able to attract more Chinese tourists after releasing this documentary.
