Covering 18 acres, Siam Cultural Park is located in Bang Phae district of Ratchaburi Province, some 80 kilometres to the West of Bangkok. The highlight of the park is a wax museum which opened to the public two years ago.

On display is a wide collection of life-sized wax models of prominent Thai figures such as Professor Sanya Thammasak , former president of Privy Councilors.

In another room is Professor Puay Ung-pha-korn, former governor of the Bank of Thailand, portrayed in a pensive position as if he were trying to find the answer to Thailand’s economic situation.

Also on display are wax models of some prominent Asian figures including late Chinese revolutionist Mao Zedong and Vietnamese counterpart Ho Chi Minh.

In addition to prominent local and international figures, some wax collections portray the lifestyle of ordinary Thai people some decades ago.

Some collections feature well-known episodes of Thai national literary works.
Pui Siriporn-lert manager of Siam Cultural Park, said maximum profit was not the ultimate goal of his family business.

“I want all tourists to relax in my cultural park. Not only can they enjoy watching a number of wax collections, but they can also enjoy viewing other exhibitions.”, said Pui.

Located in the same compound are four traditional Thai houses of four typical regional styles.
In addition to the world-famous Floating Market in Damnoen Saduak district, Siam Cultural Park should be one of the stops in your next trip to Ratchaburi.
