Duke of York to visit “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition at BACC

The Duke of York plans to visit “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition at Bangkok (See Bangkok Hotels) Art and Cultural Center (BACC) on 9 October 2009.

Deputy BMA Governor Taya Teepsuwan reveals that, on an occasion of his visit as a royal guest, Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward, the Duke of York, will pay a visit to BACC to see “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition whose objective is to build a new mindset and realization of the importance of contemporary art in public spaces transformation. The exhibition is co-hosted by the British Embassy in Bangkok (See Bangkok Hotels) , British Council, Thai-UK Collaborative Organization or Culture and Education, and BACC, and will be held at BACC 1st floor lobby during 7 – 18 October.

As a part of the exhibition, people are given an opportunity to seek locations in Bangkok needed to be transformed. There are now more than 1,000 photos and comments submitted to changebangkok.com. And the most popular location which most people want to change is the Victory Monument area.
