Online lotteries to be finalized this month

The 2-3 digit lotteries or online lotteries will be finalized by the Government Lottery Office (GLO) around the end of this month after social rehabilitation measures are concluded.

Permanent Secretary for Finance Sathit Limphongphan, in his capacity as head of the GLO board, said the board’s final decision on the lotteries would be based on a ruling by the Council of State which indicated that the GLO could sell online lotteries but must allocate the lottery sales in line with the 1974 GLO Act.

A Suan Dusit poll earlier showed more than 52% of the respondents agreed with the government’s online lottery project.

Regarding the problem of overpriced lotteries, Mr Sathit said the GLO would produce more lotteries to meet the increasing demand.
