Residents, tourists confident 15th ASEAN Summit to regain national image

Tourists and local residents in the western province of Phetchaburi are confident in the potential of the upcoming 15th ASEAN Summit to improve the national image and economy.

According to Phetchaburi Governor, Chai Panichpornpan, the provincial authorities and related sectors are now ready for the upcoming summit. Meanwhile, local residents and tourists deemed that the organization of the summit would be able to increase the number of tourists travelling to Thailand.

The governor urged everyone to be good hosts in welcoming leaders and delegates attending the summit. Cha-am district in Phetchaburi province has been selected as one of the two venues for the international meeting, which will take place from 23 to 25 October 2009.
