Tourists are returning to Lopburi to see blooming sunflowers, a week ahead of the official launch of the Sunflower festival on 14 November.

A large number of tourists are visiting Lopburi daily to take photographs of a 5,000-rai field laden with blooming sunflowers at Ban Sabrang area, in Tambon Nikhom Srang Ton Eng, Muang District. Residents along the Khok Tum – Pattananikom road which leads to Ban Sabrang area have planted sunflowers in their front yards, making the route very scenic to tourists.

On the opening day of the Sunflower Festival, an elevated stage will be built to enable tourists to take wide-angle shots of the flowers. Special vehicles will be provided to take visitors to tour around the area.

Sunflowers have become a popular seasonal attraction in Lop Buri Province, lying 154 kilometers in the north of Bangkok. Each year, a large number of tourists, especially flower lovers, travel to this province to view vast fields of sunflowers in full bloom. (NNT)
