Bangkok Governor M.R.Sukhumbhand Paribatra reveals that the board has reached an agreement to construct the 28th landmark in Bangkok, a collaboration between Bangkok and the Samut Prakarn province.

With a budget of 99 million baht the Department of City Planning has proposed the construction of landmark in the middle of the sea in Bang Khun Thian.

The Department of City Planning has also designed a preliminary landmark which is yet to be proposed to the advisory group of city planning and environment with is yet to gain approval from Dr Sumet Chumsai Na Ayutthaya, who heads the board of consultants.

The new landmark can be a quayside which in the future, BMA can use it to promote tourism to support other nearby areas such as Pattaya, which is only just 45 minutes away.

It is also possible that the landmark is a pier to connect Bang Khun Thian and Pattya which the people can use it to get across, however more research and planning is needed. (NNT)
