A Chulalongkorn University student grabbed ‘The People’s Choice award’ through the voting from people around the world in the contest of the designs for the next 90 years under the project Electrolux Design Lab 2009.

The fifth-year Architecture student, Dulyawat Wongnawa from Chulalongkorn University won ‘The People’s Choice award’ and would go through the 8 finalists in the Electrolux design Lab 2009 in London, England. His idea was a Teleport Fridge to facilitate people in the future.

Electrolux invited undergraduate and graduate industrial design students to send in their home appliance ideas for the next 90 years, in honor of the Electrolux 90-year anniversary. The brief was to create thoughtfully-designed products that will shape how people prepare and store food, wash clothes and do dishes over the next nine decades. This year over 900 entries were submitted from students in more than 50 countries.

Apart from the design of the Teleport Fridge by Mr Dulyawat Wongnawa, two national winners are Ms Thanarat Kongsuphapsiri, a second – year student from Raffles Design Institute with her health food introducing device and Ms Muthita Tothikha, a fourth-year student from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang for her thermo pad design.
