Thai tourism entrepreneurs to join World Travel Market 2009

More than 120 Tourism entrepreneurs will join the World Travel Market (WTM 2009) to present tourism products globally from 9 to 12 November 2009 at Excel Exhibition Center in London, Great Britain.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) led by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Chumpol Silpa-archa, Chairman of TAT Wichai Srikwan, Acting Governor of TAT Ms Pensuda Priaram, and the entourage from TAT and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports will invite more than 120 Thai tourism entrepreneurs from both private and public sectors to participate in the global tourism event, named “World Travel Market 2009 (WTM2009) during 9-12 November 2009 at Excel Exhibition Centre in London, Great Britain.

Director of TAT in London, Thanet Phetsuwam stated that British tourists increasingly continued to travel to Thailand, while 700,000 British tourists would be reached as targeted at the end of this year.

According to this, the level of Thai tourism has returned to normal as a result of the improvement of financial conditions and politics in Great Britain.

The Director of London’s TAT office added that WTM 2009 was the first tourism event of 2010. Many private sectors have shown greathinterest in participating including Hotels and Spas. Eight million baht has been disbursed from the Strong Thailand scheme, aiming to promote tourism products among 15 of the world’s leading British companies. (NNT)
