Thailand prepares for the The World Expo 2010 Shanghai

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is offering previews of the Thai Pavilion performance to the public. It is scheduled to be shown in Shanghai, China next year.

Thailand expresses its readiness to take part in the World Exposition Shanghai China 2010, where the uniqueness of Thai culture will be displayed to both the Thai public and on the world stage.

Issara Somchai, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, stated that the Thai pavilion will play an important role in Thailand’s relationship development with China. Thailand’s uniqueness in culture and design will be displayed through the theme “Thainess: Sustainable Ways of Life” at the exhibition with an expected attendance of around 70 million visitors.

Construction on the pavilion is currently under way with 65% of the project already completed. The pavilion will feature 3 main exhibitions that utilizes state of the art technology including a 3.5 meter tall animatronic robot in the shape of Indrajit, the Thai mythical giant. This will be used to portray the characteristics of Thailand including Thai history, Thai international relations and Thai lifestyle.

The World Expo 2010 will be held for a period of 6 months from May 1 to October 31 2010 in Shanghai, China.

Pre-expo rehearsals are available to the Thai public from November the 21st-23rd at Impact Exhibition Center and at Central World Shopping Complex between December 9th and the 17th. (NNT)
