    King asks Thais to work for common interest

    Thailand’s revered and beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej has asked his subjects to work with utmost efficiency and for the benefit of the public interest.

    King Bhumibol, who has been hospitalised at Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital since September 19, initially with a lung infection and fever, said in his New Year message televised late Thursday that Thais who love their country should dedicate themselves to carrying out the tasks they have before them to the best of their ability.     Airport Rail Link train to be fully operational in another 3 months

    The high-speed electric trains connecting the heart of Bangkok with Suvarnabhumi airport will be officially operational in the next three months, according to the Prime Minister.

    Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, stated during his weekly talk show” Confidence in Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit”, that the Airport Rail Link could start its commercial service in three months with a maximum fare of approximately 150 baht. He said the fare was deemed as very low for a 15 minute ride on the 28 kilometre long route. (More …)

    The Office of Youth Affairs of the Democrat Party, together with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and academic institutes, holds a press conference announcing a series of activities under the theme of “See-san Krungthep” (Colors of Bangkok) to be organized throughout December.

    An adviser to the Prime Minister, Mr Apirak Kosayodhin, in his capacity as chairman of the project, elaborated that over 25 international organizations are joining hands with the BMA and local youth groups in organizing the activities. The theme – Colors of Bangkok – relates to its diversity which is enriched with culture. (More …)
