Despite being hunted as food and medicine in some countries, turtles, the ancient symbols of longevity which outlived the dinosaurs, survive well in Sattahip under the care of the Royal Thai Navy.

The Royal Thai Navy has a role in the protection of turtles in response to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s concern on the preservation of Thai turtles. A center has been established with an aim to nurture the sea turtles and return as much as possible to the sea.

The Sea Turtle Conservation Center was set up on the coast of Sattahip bay in 1992 with the help of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to promote the place as a natural tourist attraction. The area is under the responsibility of the Air and Coastal Defense Command of the Royal Thai Navy. (More …)

Thailand: World’s Leading Destination for Value for Money

Thailand World Destination Value for Money

With fluctuating oil prices, dwindling global economies and volatile currency exchange rates, travelers are now, more than ever, seeking out tourism destinations which offer the upmost value for money.

This is where Thailand, the Land of Smiles and the tourism epicenter of Southeast Asia steps in and paves the way; a country where those with higher spending power can enjoy a luxury 5-star hotel room (Luxury Hotels Thailand) for just a 100 Euro and an exquisitely romantic buffet dinner cruise for 60 Euro. Then, for those on a budget (Budget Hotels Thailand)  an exotically located beach bungalow (Beach Resorts Reservations) can be had for 15 Euro and a dish of tasty shrimp fried rice for even less than a Euro. The second Heineken GreenSpace party and music festival takes place on Saturday at Pattaya’s Ocean Marina Yacht Club and it promises to be a blast with three international acts handpicked by Montonn “Jay” Jira going head to head with local favourites under the night skies.

Jay headed to Europe to find the artists for the show, choosing Little Roy, a legendary reggae singer and songwriter from Jamaica, who will jam with Thai ska outfit TBone; Crystal Night, a modern jazz band from France, who’ll appear with Radklao Amaradit; and Club 8, an indie pop/electronic group from Sweden, to team up with ETC.
