    Duke of York to visit “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition at BACC 

    The Duke of York plans to visit “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition at Bangkok (See Bangkok Hotels) Art and Cultural Center (BACC) on 9 October 2009.

    Deputy BMA Governor Taya Teepsuwan reveals that, on an occasion of his visit as a royal guest, Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward, the Duke of York, will pay a visit to BACC to see “Transforming Public Spaces” exhibition whose objective is to build a new mindset and realization of the importance of contemporary art in public spaces transformation. The exhibition is co-hosted by the British Embassy in Bangkok (See Bangkok Hotels) , British Council, Thai-UK Collaborative Organization or Culture and Education, and BACC, and will be held at BACC 1st floor lobby during 7 – 18 October.     Thailand to join 35th UNESCO meeting in France 

    Inspector of Culture Ministry Ms.Somsuda Leeyawanit said that during October 6-23, the ministry would send representatives to attend the 35th meeting of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which would be organized in Paris, France. (More …)

    The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of Thailand awards ‘Sam Chuk Market’ of Suphan Buri province in central Thailand a prize for cultural heritage place.

    The UNESCO has announced the competition result of the cultural heritage conservation project 2009 covering Asia and Pacific region. There were 48 places from 14 countries in the region in the competition such as hotels, office buildings, cultural places, academic institutes, religious places, public places, residence buildings and cities.
