    Industrial impasse forces largest foreign sell-off in nine months

    Thailand’s stock market in November was affected by domestic negative factors including the suspension of Map Ta Phut Industrial projects and an unresolved political situation with the net selling of Bt 13 billion by foreign investors.

    Thai shares fell 0.59 per cent Wednesday in a market awash with concerns over domestic politics and the global economy. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index lost 4.11 points to 694.71, while the blue-chip SET-50 index dropped 2.97 points to 487.39. (More …)

    Nok Air opens 3 new domestic routes to Northeast

    Nok Air

    Nok Air, the low-cost airline, will inaugurate three new routes linking Bangkok and the northeastern provinces of Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Buri Ram on December 3.

    Speaking at a news conference with executives from Thai Airways International (THAI) and Nok Air, Civil Aviation Department director-general Wuttichai Singmanee said Nok Air is assuming flights replacing the three destinations revoked by PB Air, another domestic Thai carrier.

    Stoppage of the flight operations has affected the three provinces’ tourism industry, he said. Supported under the umbrella of THAI, Nok Air will use ATR-72 aircraft flying from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to the three destinations. (More …)

    Better online marketing skills for Ko Chang 

    The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) arranges an online marketing training program for Ko Chang tourism entrepreneurs in Trat province.

    TAT information technology department director Phanom Kaributra said that the training would help local entrepreneurs expand their businesses as there was a growing potential in the Trat tourism market, according to a TAT marketing research. More than 70 online tourism entrepreneurs in Ko Chang have shown interest in the training. (More …)
